In order for the fresh plum seeds to germinate, they should be planted 3 inches (8 cm) deep in the soil. Make a mark on the ground where you intend to plant the pit so that you can find it in the spring. Leave the plum pit outside throughout the winter months and keep an eye out for sprouts; after that, keep the new plant wet and observe its development.
